Shipping personal items from and to residences can be kind of tough. The main reason that most carriers don’t allow you to ship personal items is because it usually isn’t packaged like it should be. Carriers also refuse to insure any used merchandise that is shipped for more than .05 cents per pound.

We will move your freight for you if you have it packaged securely. This means it must be boxed, crated, or on a pallet. Your freight will be riding on trucks with freight such as machinery, engines, computers, etc. You don’t want your freight hanging over the side of a pallet, or sticking out of a box. We will not insure any merchandise for more than .05 cents per pound, and we aren’t able to pay any claims on freight that was not packaged correctly.

Here are some basic definitions of some services you might need:

* Residential pickup / delivery: This service applies when a carrier is picking up / delivering at a residence, college, church, home business, or any other place within a residential area.

* Liftgate service: If any one piece that you are shipping or receiving is over 100 lbs, you will need a liftgate to help load or unload your freight. A liftgate is a hydraulic lift that is on certain trucks and is not usually available for truckload or partial truckload service.
